I have a facebook account that I have had for about 2 years. I keep it pretty private, and do not use it very often. I like it to connect with family and share photos. Other than that, I am not sure that I would use it for educationally purposes. It may be okay for a discussion group on a particular topic, but blogs would also work as well.

We have found that a FB presence for the NHS Library is a way to connect with students in a place where they go to communicate. We post links to helpful sites and info. for them. I know that some of my junior class officers have created groups on FB to remind students of prom committee meetings, etc. I think it has some practical possibilities.
